Resin
Resin is much more than a simple finish: it dresses the wood in a protective and luminous skin that enhances each tabletop. It can be chosen in a matte finish, for an elegant and timeless look, or ultra-glossy with a spectacular mirror effect that subtly patinates over time.
Poured to a thickness of approximately 3 mm, our epoxy resin creates a smooth, waterproof, and resistant surface against shocks, stains, and sun rays. Easy to maintain, it retains its beauty year after year.
A nod to our coastal roots, it's the same resin used to glaze surfboards: a promise of strength and brilliance, born between land and ocean.
Production time
Production time
Day 1: Machining & sanding
Initial preparation of the tabletop to obtain a perfectly smooth surface, ready to receive the resin.
Day 2: Leveling the tabletop
Meticulous adjustments to ensure a perfectly flat surface. This ensures uniform pouring and consistent thickness throughout the piece.
Day 3 & 4: Resin preparation and pouring
Dosing and mixing with pigments, pouring the resin, passing the heat gun to remove air bubbles and ensure a homogeneous surface.
Day 5 to 8: Resin drying
Essential polymerization time to stabilize and harden the surface.
Day 8: Contour machining
Day 9: Sanding
Progressive work on the surfaces to eliminate irregularities and prepare for polishing.
Day 10 & 11: Polishing
Finishing phase, either glossy or satin, depending on the desired appearance.
Day 12 to 15: Application of the chosen finish
Depending on the selected finish (natural wood, tinted oil, lacquered paint, etc.), application of different layers to the sides and underside of the tabletop, with intermediate sanding and drying time (24 to 48 hours) between each step.
Maintenance Tips
Maintenance Tips
Regular Cleaning
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the surface of your table. For tougher stains, you can add a little mild soap or a cleaner. Avoid overly abrasive products or those containing alcohol, which could damage the finish.
Protect from Scratches
Although resin is durable, it is recommended to use coasters, placemats, or tablecloths to protect the surface from scratches, especially if you have chosen a high-gloss finish. Avoid dragging hard or sharp objects across the surface.
Avoid Extreme Temperatures
Resin can be sensitive to heat. Use trivets to protect the surface from the heat of dishes directly from the oven or other hot pans/pots after cooking. Avoid exposing the table to direct sunlight for long periods, as this can discolor the resin, even if it is UV-resistant.
Repair Minor Scratches
If your table has superficial scratches, you can reduce them by gently polishing the surface with a soft cloth and a polish suitable for resin surfaces. For deeper scratches, professional intervention may be necessary.
Maintaining Shine
To maintain your table's shine, resin polish or specific waxes can be applied periodically. This helps to nourish and protect the surface, while restoring its brilliant appearance.
Matte Finish: if your table has a matte finish, be sure to avoid polishing products, which could make the surface shiny. Simply clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Available colors
The tinted resin reveals its full depth from a distance, with a smooth, glossy, and uniform finish, true to the visuals presented.
Each tabletop is cast and crafted by hand in our workshop. When observing the surface up close, slight irregularities may appear: micro-bubbles, very subtle nuances, or tiny variations in the material.
These elements are inherent to artisanal resin work. We do our utmost to minimize them, but they are an integral part of the process and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece. They do not alter the overall aesthetic or the quality of the product.
