Lacquered paint
Unlike colored oil, which reveals the wood grain, lacquer paint completely hides its natural texture to provide a full, even appearance without transparency.
Carefully applied by hand, this artisanal finish has a smooth, but never completely perfect, finish: small irregularities may remain, evidence of the gesture and manual work.
More sensitive than other finishes, lacquer paint requires special care: it's beautiful and vibrant, but it marks easily. We recommend it for rooms that will be used less frequently or in more protected environments.

Day 1 : Machining & Sanding
Careful preparation of each piece to guarantee a perfectly smooth surface.
Day 2 : Application of a primer coat (drying 24/48 hours)
The bonding primer prepares the surface to receive the paint to ensure optimal adhesion throughout the entire piece.
Day 4 : Sanding and application of the first coat of paint (drying 24/48 hours)
Day 6 : Sanding and application of the second coat of paint (drying 24 hours)
Day 7 : Sanding and application of the third coat of paint (drying 48 hours)
Day 9 : Sanding, application of a layer of protective varnish (drying 24 hours)
The varnish fixes the color and reinforces the resistance of the surface.

Day 11 : Finishing touches, rendering checks and packaging
Care instructions
Care instructions
Daily cleaning
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. For small stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with warm water.
Absolutely avoid abrasive products, solvents or chemical cleaners: they can alter the surface.
Scratches & Rubs
Lacquer is sensitive to hard objects and repeated rubbing.
Avoid placing abrasive objects directly on the surface and prefer the use of coasters, placemats or felt pads.
Sun & UV
Prolonged exposure to direct light can dull the color and create shadows under stationary objects.
Move items around regularly and avoid unprotected windows in direct sunlight.
Heat & humidity
The lacquered finish is resistant to hot objects and prolonged humidity.
Do not place hot dishes directly on the surface and protect it from splashes of water or steam.
Movements & shocks
Always lift furniture when moving it: never slide it across the floor.
Handle with care to avoid impact or scratches on the paint.

Colors and customization
We offer several options to help you choose or customize the color finish for your room: custom paint, ordering samples, or downloading our color chart. Each option is designed to guide you in your choices with flexibility and clarity.
Custom colors
Custom colors
In addition to the 12 shades offered in our color chart, we also offer several options to adapt our pieces to your color project.
1. Creation of a custom color from the Tollens color chart
We work with Tollens professional paint , which covers a wide range of shades. You can send us the exact color code you want, which we will apply in our workshop.
This option involves an additional charge of €60 including tax, corresponding to the purchase of the custom shade.
2. Using paint from another supplier
If you prefer a shade from another brand (such as Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Argile, etc.), simply send us the precise reference or a link to the product sheet.
This option is also possible, subject to technical compatibility with our application, and a supplement will be required, corresponding to the purchase cost of the selected paint.
3. Furniture delivered unfinished, to be painted by you
We also offer, upon request, shipment of the part in its raw, unfinished form. This solution may be suitable if you wish to apply a specific paint yourself on site or through a service provider of your choice.
In this case, we are not responsible for the final finish, and no complaints can be accepted regarding the appearance or durability of the finish applied outside the workshop.

Transparency on our finishes: quality, environment and health
We pay great attention to the selection of finishing products used in the manufacture of our objects. We have carefully selected them to combine aesthetics, durability, and respect for the environment.
Technical specifications and health guarantees
Technical specifications and health guarantees
Our lacquered finish is achieved with a solvent-based satin paint, formulated with urethane alkyd resins, renowned for their smooth, covering, and uniform finish. This finish produces full, non-transparent colors, ideal for creating graphic pieces with a strong character.
Although completely dry and safe once applied, this paint has a higher content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs: approx. 499 g/l), resulting in higher solvent emissions compared to our natural oil-based finishes.
However, emissions into indoor air remain in compliance with current standards , with a classification ranging from A to A+ depending on the shades.
This finish remains a strong aesthetic choice, to be chosen with full knowledge of the facts for well-ventilated spaces or those with little exposure to intensive use.
These commitments demonstrate our approach to beautiful, durable and healthy furniture, in harmony with your ecological values and your well-being.
